What a treat! We were entertained by these two professional bluegrass guitar-pickers and singers for a good 45 minutes, then a break, and another 45 minutes of most enjoyable music and jokes. Bluegrass seems to be the most popular with our crowd and was well attended. ************************************************************************ |

SAM RUDIN- Jazz and blues piano Sam Rudin is an extraordinary pianist, with lightning-fast fingers, sure-handed clarity, and the rhythmic intensity of an entire band. He is an exciting, high-energy performer, whose enthusiasm on stage is as clear as his love for the blues, jazz, and country traditions from which his music comes. . www.hurricanesam.com

This talented young band played to a "standing room only" audience on Friday, January 8, 2010.
OMGG is an exciting new band that started as a group of youngsters who met at summer bluegrass festivals and has grown into an entertaining, surprisingly polished ensemble – with an average age of about 12 and a half. These kids have emerged as the stars of the California Bluegrass Association’s “Kids on Bluegrass” program, where they have performed together many times and discovered their common passion for both traditional and more progressive bluegrass styles.
OMGG stands for Obviously Minor Guys and a Girl. **********************************************

HOUSE BLEND
After House Blend was formed, 10 years ago, the members directed their efforts toward assembling entertaining programs with a variety of music, rather than with one particular style. As their repertoire expanded, they found themselves “reading between the lines” of the music. Soon, each new song offered an opportunity to create something unique, and as they continued to sing together, their style began to emerge. The quartet offers its own renditions of classical, jazz, doo-wop, country, gospel, ballad and other assorted musical styles, always rich in A Cappella harmony and always fun. ********************************************** |

MUSIC WITH FRIENDS November 13, 2009
We were so fortunate to hear the exquisite playing of these fine young musicians.
The advanced violin students of Walnut Creek residents and violin teachers Art and Gail Peterson delighted the audience with their accomplished musicianship and deft playing. The performers, many from local high schools and middle schools, presented light classics from the composers Mozart, Brahms, Vivaldi, Gershwin, Dvorak, Monti and more. Chris Salocks accompanied on piano.
